The Historic Lamborghini LM 002
Lamborghini is known for the exquisite and memorable vehicles in which they create. The LM 002 was one of the many projects taken on by Lamborghini that has left its mark in the world of cars.
At the end of the 1970’s, the American company MIT commissioned Lamborghini to design an off-road vehicle. At first, the project failed. It was proposed again in 1981 and after several prototypes had been built and waited to become street legal. Lamborghini presented the LM 002 series model in 1986 where then the vehicle was available to all. This powerful off-road with the Countach engine was liked by kings, actors and racers alike – the first LM 002 was delivered to the King of Morocco. In 1987 an LM 002 was built and used also for the pharaohs’ rally and for the Paris-Dakar one year later. The last LM 002 was produced in 1992 making history for Lamborghini.

A Look At A Classic: The Diablo
Lamborghini takes us back in time, with a look at the Diablo. The Diablo was destined to become the worthy heir of the renowned Miura and Countach. The new supercar was produced between 1990 and 2001 and led to the creation of several variations. The executive team at Lamborghini had wished for a maximum speed of at least 195mph, and the engineers made this wish come true. With a top speed of 200mph and acceleration of 60mph in 4.5 seconds, the Diablo claimed the highest position in the super sports cars segment. Lamborghini enthusiasts now have even more to rave about when it comes to the performance of the luxury brand. The Huracan Performante has surpassed the Porsche 918 Spyder by setting a new lap record at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. The Huracan Performante’s new lap record is six minutes and 52 seconds.
The vehicle, set to debut at the Geneva Auto Show, has received nothing but accolades from automotive experts. The team at MotorTrend writes, “The part of the Performante that’s going to excite you supercar lovers the most is ALA. That’s short for Aerodynamica Lamborghini Attiva, and the folks from Sant’Agata have just patented it because ALA is an entirely new way to do active aerodynamics.That isn’t all that’s improved, though. Power is up! And that’s always a good thing. Especially when your garden variety Huracán is capable of producing “only” 602 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque from its 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V-10. For Performante duty, the engine gets new intake and exhaust camshafts, an air intake borrowed from the gentlemen racer Super Trofeo Huracáns, and a new exhaust system that relieves backpressure. The result is 25 to 40 more horsepower and an additional 30 lb-ft of torque. Assume that final numbers will be between 625 and 640 hp and 453 lb-ft of torque. They’re still working out the details. The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission has also been re-optimized for crisper, smarter shifts. The last time we tested a Huracán, it hit 60 mph in 2.8 seconds. Expect the Performante to be quicker.”
Speaking of the car’s various modes and stability control settings, Lorenzo Rinaldi, Automobili Lamborghini’s Head of Vehicle Dynamics, said in a recent interview, “Sport is dedicated to make the car feel a little loose and tail-happy. For the fastest lap times, however, you’re better off in Corsa. It is more focused and sharper overall. Alternatively, you can of course switch off stability control altogether.”

The V10 5.2-liter engine produces the power of 580 horses to the rear axle, taking the car from 0 to 60 in 3.6 seconds.
